Hank Burgoyne's unique combination of legal and business experience helps him identify cutting-edge solutions to his clients' most pressing problems. Hank's passion for the Internet and new media gives him a personal stake in each of those solutions' success.
Hank focuses on the transactions that drive online and wireless commerce, in particular content licenses, marketing agreements, technology and services deals, and end-user terms of service. An experienced litigator and one-time newsroom lawyer, Hank also advises on copyright and trademark enforcement, privacy and publicity rights, and the First Amendment. Prior to attending law school, Hank stood in the shoes of his clients, first as an online journalist and managing editor and later as a strategic marketer to Internet-related companies.
Hank's practice is guided by both his dedication to the highest ethical standards and by his clients' long-term business goals. "Clients often come to us for help with what they view as isolated problems," he says. "It's our job to put those problems in a larger context, and to implement cost-effective solutions that facilitate our clients' ultimate business objectives."
Hank is a member of the State Bar of California and the San Francisco Bar Association. After graduating with distinction from Stanford Law School, he clerked for the Hon. William Alsup, a federal district court judge in the Northern District of California. Hank is a 1990 graduate of Georgetown University. He also holds a master's degree in journalism from the University of Arizona.
